US AIRWAYS LAST WEEK BEGAN OFFERING PASSENGERS THE OPTION OF PURCHASING DELI-STYLE MEALS ON SELECT FLIGHTS. The initiative is part of a two-week test dubbed In-flight Café. Through March 31, US Airways passengers traveling in coach on nonstop flights between Pittsburgh and Denver, Fort Lauderdale, Kansas City, MO, Nashville and New Orleans can purchase deli-style meals on flights where meal service currently is not offered.
The breakfast meal ($7) features coffee crumb cake, fresh mixed fruit with a cream cheese fruit dip, raspberry yogurt and fruit juice. The Club Mex lunch/dinner ($10) meal is a smoked turkey sandwich with pepper jack cheese on a challah roll with a side of ancho-chili lime mayonnaise, potato chips, a fresh tomato-artichoke-mozzarella salad, an Einstein signature Chocolate Truffle cookie and a bottle of water.
