Lodging Groups to Share Terror Research
The AH&LA and REISAC are taking steps to share data, heighten security, identify and prevent terrorist activity in the nation’s hotels
by LISA MATTE
THE AMERICAN HOTEL & LODGING ASSOCIATION (AH&LA) HAS TEAMED UP WITH THE REAL ESTATE INFORMATION SHARING AND ANALYSIS CENTER (REISAC)—a coalition that works with the U.S. real estate industry and federal homeland security officials—to share information regarding the prevention and detection of terrorist threats pertinent to the lodging industry. REISAC is currently establishing incident-reporting criteria to help hoteliers identify incidents that should be reported to law enforcement agencies. The initiative is a response to government statements citing hotels as potential targets for terrorism. For further information, visit http://www.reisac.org
